A person in silhouette holds up a camera and makes a peace sign while looking through a window. A small, light-colored dog sits on someone's head or shoulder just outside the glass. The scene is captured in black and white, illuminated by a single hanging light fixture.
A shadow stands against the glass so clear,
With fingers raised in peace to meet the light.
The tiny pup is perched so very near,
A ghostly shape within the dark of night.
Through panes of glass the silent world is caught,
In shades of grey where silver highlights play.
A moment captured, fleeting and so fraught,
With quiet grace before it fades away.
The lamp hangs low, a glowing, pearly orb,
While darkness presses hard against the pane.
The stillness of the night is to absorb,
The joy of life that simple scenes sustain.
In monochrome, the memory is bound,
Where light and shadow in the frame are found.
